Advertising Executive

My background begins with 13 years in consumer packaged-goods advertising. As a Partner/Management Supervisor at Ogilvy & Mather, I oversaw advertising efforts for Kraft Foods, Unilever and American Express among others.

Stewarding the brands of these blue-chip clients required intense strategic thinking and a dogged pursuit for “whys” and “hows.” I loved it. I got paid to be nosey. I also got paid to channel insight into effective ad campaigns that increased sales, re-vitalized brands and changed businesses.

Writer/Blogger/Social Media Enthusiast

In 2001, my title changed to stay-at-home mother, a decade I refer to as my “period of ethnographic research.” Dwelling among suburban, full-time mothers is  a lot different from studying them from behind focus group windows. Unable to contain my desire for insight. I took my adjustment issues to the virtual streets and mommy blogged. I learned a lot.

I also worked my way around WordPress, and began tweeting, pinning, sharing, updating, downloading and LinkingIn. I confess, I felt young again. I may hail from Generation X, but I can hang with Millennials (online anyway).

Consultant

I’m looking to infuse strategic planning with ideas, using an approach that blends strategic discipline with the creativity of customer context and experience.
